What We Offer
Photograph Scanning
This is an example of a job we have completed. Every job is custom and quoted for you before any work begins.
How the Job Started
About 20 photo lab envelopes and a stack of loose photos. The photos where mostly in a 4×5 format with a fair amount of small black and white photos from Box Brownie cameras.
The photo lab envelopes where scanned first, we used the roll number found on the envelope or negative film to include in the new filename of each photo. This helps group the photos in a set and also makes finding the physical version when you need it easier.
Handwriting on the back

Many photos included handwriting on the back. We were able to get a copy of this at the same time without slowing us down in the scanning process. The back of the photo with handwriting gets created as a new “b” version with the same filename.
Auto Adjustments
We use Adobe Lightroom to make auto adjustments to the scanned photos. I find this program creates the best auto adjustments for batch processing large amount of images. Like most software It doesn’t always get it right, that is why we check the results of each photo and make quick alterations when possible. We also rotate and crop each photo when necessary while doing these checks.

Photograph Albums
How the Job Started
This album contained black and white photographs which were held in place with photo corners. Instead of removing the photos and potentially causing damage to the photo or the album itself, we take a digital copy with our camera.
We can customize this process to suit your needs. In this case we wanted two versions of the photo to be digitised. One which included all the associated hand written descriptions and one which was cropped and ready for print.

Catalogue Printing
How the Job Started
Once we have a collection in a digital format we can make a catalogue of your photos including the new filename. This makes viewing your full collection easier and sharing with others in person more fun. Because the filenames are included next to each photo, locating your digital version is simple and fast.
